Open Collaboration

Polaris Venture Partners created Dogpatch Labs with the idea that the perfect environment for really early stage companies to develop and formulate their business was one that fostered open source entrepreneurism.   To make this concept work the space has to be open, desks in close proximity to each other and in some cases multiple companies sharing the same pod of desks and most importantly a group of entrepreneurs who by nature are collaborative.   It also helps to have members of the Dogpatch community with varied and interesting backgrounds.  In all three Dogpatch locations you will find first time founders, repeat founders who can share their war stories and people with diverse expertise including product, marketing, business development and engineering. As Dan Gruneberg from ekoventure wrote in his recent blog open collaboration, his association with other members of the Dogpatch Lab community in NY has helped his company think through issues related to Facebook Connect, design and UX process, and API data structure.

More interesting stories and activities from Dogpatch Labs coming soon.
