Kairos Society
April 21, 2010 # 5:00 am # Uncategorized # 4 CommentsThis past weekend I was fortunate to be invited to attend and speak at the Kairos Global Summit. My guess is that very few people have heard of the Kairos Society and candidly it would not have been on my radar had it not been for my son Tyler Flint who is the Kairos Chapter President at Emory University.
Kairos is an organization started by a Ankur Jain an undergraduate at the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School. It is an international student-run not-for-profit foundation based in the United States whose members are some of the brightest young entrepreneurs in the world. While attending the event I met with over 75 students all of whom have started companies while in school. I was really impressed with the diversity of ideas across consumer Internet, energy, life sciences, cloud computing and consumer products. Equally as impressive was the diversity of schools where these founders attend. It goes to show you that not all great minds attend MIT, Harvard, Stanford and Penn!
All of us who attended this event came away with a great sense of encouragement that there is a growing interest among today’s youth to become leaders and entrepreneurs. Check out their web site and keep your eyes on anyone you meet who is a member. Programs like this are great for the future of our economy.
